Bro. Louis W. Brinker, age 78, of Massac County, IL, passed away at 3:13 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Metropolis with his son Jason Brinker and brother-in-law Greg Giltner officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Bro. Brinker was a faithful minister of the gospel for 55 years. During these years he served as Pastor to Simpson Missionary Baptist Church in Simpson, IL, Eastland Baptist Church in Metropolis, Grace Baptist Church in Granite City, IL, Bellview Baptist Church in Paducah, KY, First Baptist Church in Salem, MO, First Baptist Church in Metropolis, Friendship Baptist Church in Smithland, KY, Twelve Oaks in Paducah, KY, and then returned back to First Baptist Church in Metropolis as their Minister to Senior Adults. He was also a member of First Baptist Church Metropolis.

Bro. Brinker is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol (Kimbrell) Brinker of Massac Co.; two daughters, Tammy Regen and husband Scott of Knoxville, TN and Rachael Raney and husband Greg of Shelbyville, IN; one son, Jason Brinker and wife Angela of Jacksonville, NC; six grandchildren, Ramsey Regen, Madison Raney, Dalton Raney, Graham Brinker, Daxton Brinker, and Evangaline Brinker; brother, Ronald Brinker and wife Sue of Franklin, TN; sister, Connie Quint and husband Gary of Massac Co.; brother, Danny Brinker and wife Susan of Massac Co.; one sister-in-law, Janice Brinker of Grant, AL; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Beulah (Medley) Brinker; one son, Barry Wayne Brinker; and one brother, Stanley Brinker.

Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church in Metropolis on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 29, from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 3:00 p.m.
