Billy W. Ross, age 89, of Paducah, KY, passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Superior Care Home.
Mr. Ross was a member and a Deacon of Lone Oak Church of Christ. He was a retired maintenance mechanic for Union Carbide/Martin Marietta. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran, a KY Colonel and an avid UK basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
Mr. Ross is survived by two daughters, Kara Jane Sollitto of Lone Oak, KY and Kathy Sue Rogers and husband Ricky M. of Gilbertsville, KY; two sons, Robert W. Ross and wife Teresa of Jupiter, FL and Ronald Lee Ross and wife April of Ripley, WV; ten grandchildren, Ryan Rogers and wife Emily, Philip Sollitto and wife Whitney, Amy K. Edwards and husband Brian, Brooks Ross, Amanda Bradley and husband Garath, Michael Sollitto and wife Mitzi, Lisa Ross, Alice Ross, Katie Ross and Crista Williams; eight great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 yrs. Mayme Sue Vanvactor Ross; son, Randy Ross; granddaughter, Julie Rogers; son-in-law, Jerry Sollitto; two sisters. His parents were Fred Ross and Brent Harper Ross Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Paul Wingfield officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service time of 1:00 p.m. at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
