Anita Mae Ervin Rollings Holland Anderson
Mrs. Anita Mae (Ervin) Rollings Holland Anderson, 81, of Paducah, KY, formerly of Eddyville, KY, Park Forest, IL, Barlow, KY and Royalton, IL, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at St. Lucie Hospice House in Ft. Pierce, FL.
She was born in Royalton, IL, July 13, 1935 and graduated as valedictorian of her class from Royalton High School in 1953. She received an Associate of Arts degree from Prairie State College, Chicago Heights, IL, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Education from Governors State University, University Park, IL, a Master of Arts degree in Business Education from Murray State University. She was secretary to the Superintendent of schools at Crete-Monee School District, Crete, IL for 10 years, taught business education at Deer Creek Junior High School at University Park, IL for 4 years, and taught business education for 10 ½ years at Lyon County High School in Eddyville, KY.
She was a member of Heartland Worship Center, HIS Sunday School Class; Paducah Daughters of the American Revolution; Associate Member of James Thomas Chapter of D.A.R., Cadiz, KY; Delta Kappa Gamma, Chi Chapter, Lyon County; Lyon County Retired Teachers; Governors State University Alumni Associaton; Murray State College Alumni Association; Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, Western Baptist Hospital Auxiliary and Gideons International Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband, Donald C. Anderson of Paducah, KY; two sons, James (Jim) Wesley Rollings III (Ivey) of Barlow, KY and Jason Ervin Holland (Heather) of Hopkinsville, KY; one daughter, Karen Rollings Worthington (C.J.) of Olive Branch, IL; one stepson, Donald Mark Anderson of Cedar Lake, IN; three stepdaughters, Rebecca Anderson Razey of Munster, IN, Joanne Anderson Lewis (Ron) of Schererville, IN and Suzanne Anderson Cantu (Jim) of Griffith, IN; one brother, Tommy Glenn Ervin of Cocoa, FL; one grandson, James Alexander Rollings of Barlow, KY; three granddaughters, Melodee Stewart Henderson of Olive Branch, IL, Shelby Aline Rollings of Barlow, KY and Hannah Jane Holland of Hopkinsville, KY; one great-granddaughter, Morgan Izabelle Henderson of Olive Branch, IL; eight step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren; six nephews, Ronnie Lee Ervin of Murray, KY, Robert C. Ervin Jr. of La Center, KY, Spencer Ervin of Reidland, KY, Landon Ervin of Paducah, KY, Larry Dee Ervin of Parkland, FL and Captain Bradley Marshall Ervin of Pensacola, FL; three nieces, Julia Ervin Brady of Buchanon, WV, Vanessa Ervin Lyons of Murray, KY and Lisa Ervin Pollard of Cocoa, FL.
Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by two husbands, James Wesley Rollings and Billy Porter Holland Sr; two brothers, Robert Clark Ervin Sr. and Benny Dee Ervin; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Ervin and a niece, Melody Ervin Smith. Her parents were Lyle Elwood and Esther Clark Ervin. Her grandparents were Clinton and M. Mae Amos Ervin and Reuben Marshall and Jessie Bittick Clark.
A funeral service for Anita Mae Anderson will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Heartland Worship Center, Paducah, KY with Dr. Nathan Joyce officiating. Visitation will be held that same day from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Heartland Worship Center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Miners Cemetery in Royalton, IL.
