Perry “Mac” Malcolm Mills, age 89, died on April 10, 2018 while resting at Clinton Place.

He is survived by his 4 children, Richard Mills of Frankfort, Ron (Beth) Mills of Lexington, Rebecca Mills Walker of Murray and Cherry (Jeff) Mills Boyles of Lawrenceburg; brother, Donald Rhey Mills of Lexington; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Mills; parents, Elbert Rhey and Maurine Plain Mills; brother Maubert “Mike” Mills, sister Francis Mills McNeil, daughter-in-law Veda Mills, and grandson Aaron Mills.

Perry was born in Sacramento, Kentucky and raised in Clinton prior to enlisting in the US Air Force. Perry met Joyce while he was stationed at McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Washington. A Korean War Era Veteran, he served as Airman First Class in the US Air Force and was stationed in Iceland during his tour of duty. He and Joyce married and then later moved to Kentucky.

After Perry earned his bachelor’s degree from Murray State University, he served as a social worker in Hickman County.

A lover of old westerns, UK basketball, and music, Perry enjoyed time with family and friends. He placed others first and led always with compassion for those in need, following his philosophy “Many people who never wore crowns are royal in their hearts.”

Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, April 29th at the Brown Funeral Home in Clinton with Rev. Bill Lickliter officiating. Burial of cremains of Perry and Joyce Mills will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 12:30 PM on April 29. Donations may be made to the Hickman County Senior Citizen’s Center, 212 East North Street, Clinton, KY 42031.
