Kim Godby, age 56, of Clinton, originally from South Charleston, WV, left for heaven’s beaches and pink skies on Thursday, February 2, 2017, surrounded by her family in her home.
Kim was a member of Clinton First United Methodist Church. She owned and operated Greg’s Supermarkets in Clinton, Bardwell, and La Center along with her husband Greg. Kim enjoyed working with young people and dedicated many years of her life by participating in local youth programs, such as, Quest and Chrysalis in Western Kentucky and leading the Jr. High UMYF while living in Memphis, TN. Looking for ways to grow her faith, she was an active member of the Emmaus community and Community Bible Study in Paducah, for many years. Her greatest accomplishment was being a devoted and caring mother. Kim, or “Pip” as she was known to some, opened her home with unconditional love to all. Always willing to lend an ear, Kim created an environment that was welcoming and nurturing to all, while making everyone around her laugh and smile.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years Greg, her son Ryan and his fiancé Renae Fields, and her daughter Megan Faye Godby; four sisters, Helen Fisher, JoAnn (Bob) Anderson, Kaye (Tom) Michnay, and Lynn (John) Burdette and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Mason and Faye Kidd and two brothers, Scott and Tommy Kidd.
A celebration of Kim’s life will be held at First United Methodist Church in Clinton, KY on Sunday, February 12th, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held in the Young Center at First United Methodist Church in Clinton on Saturday, February 11th, 2017 between 4 and 7 PM.
