Wilma Maxey King, age 92, of Arlington, KY passed away at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield on Friday, October 6, 2017.
She graduated from Arlington High School and went to work at Union Carbide as a secretary. She later worked as a secretary for the United States Department of Agriculture for many years. She was a member of Arlington First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over forty years.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Melton and husband, Roger, of Fancy Farm, Sheila Melton of Ballard County, and David R. King of Murray; five grandchildren, Jon King and wife, Cleo of Gilbertsville, Christopher Melton and wife, April, of Arlington, Samuel Melton and wife, Faith, of Fancy Farm, Kelly Barriault and husband, Eric, of Chesapeake, VA, Leslie Lyons, and husband, Kevin, of Chesapeake, VA ; eleven great grandchildren, Dale Melton, Thomas Melton, Brelynn Melton, Brent Melton, Levi Melton, Michael Melton, Bella Barriault, Sophia Barriault, Aubrey Lyons, Kayley Lyons, and Eli King; sister, Lucille Rector of Dyersburg, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie P. King; parents, Robert H. Maxey and Argie Todd Moore; brothers, Robert Maxey, Jr. and Dennis Ray Maxey.
Services for Mrs. King will be held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Arlington on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Shane O’Guinn officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington cemetery. Visitaion will held on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
