William Mohundro

Mr. William W. Mohundro, 90, of Murray, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Tri County Home Health and Hospice of Paris, Tennessee. Mr. Mohundro was born in Puryear, TN on June 16, 1927 to the late E. Crawford and Dora Overcast Mohundro. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a Private 1st Class and a veteran of WWII. Bill worked for Martin Oil Service Station on East Main and Perry's Hendon's Service Station on N. 4th Street. He also worked as a carpenter and farmer and sold watermelons and cantaloupes out of his truck bed. He was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two wives, Bonnie West and Betty Hicks Meadows; two brothers, Robert Mohundro and Harold Mohundro and one daughter, Rita Sue Mohundro. Mr. Mohundro is survived by three sisters, Ruth Ferguson of Hazel, Louise Owens and Sue Roberts, both of Murray; six nieces, Gracie George Erwin (W.A.), Geri George Tucker (Curtis), Claire Jones, Diane Owens Dixon (Dale), Martha Mohundro Standridge (Dexter), Vicki Roberts Ridge (Nick) and two nephews, John David Roberts (Kelly) and Robert Mohundro. A celebration of life will be held after the new year at Elm Grove Baptist Church in Murray. Online condolences available at www.imesfh.com.
