Mrs. Virginia Tharpe Wilkins, 94, of Murray died Monday, August 15, 2016 at Spring Creek Healthcare. Virginia was born January 28, 1922 in Henry County, Tennessee to the late Aaron and Addie Dumas Tharpe. She was a member of St. John's Baptist Church in Murray.
Mrs. Wilkins is survived by a daughter, Vivian Crutchfield of Jackson, TN; a sister, Genett Owens of Chicago, Illinois; five grandchildren, Cherise Carson, Te'Hisha Richardson, La Toya Crutchfield, Jason Wilkins, and Parish Wilkins; and 13 great-grandchildren along with many other loved ones and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilkins was preceded in death by a son, Jewell Wilkins ; her brother, Willie Tharpe and three sisters, Lorene Foster, Evie Walls, and Pearly Ever Payne.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home & Crematory, 121 N. Bypass, Murray Burial will follow at the Barr's Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Como, TN. The family will receive visitors prior to the funeral, from 9-11 AM, Monday at the Heritage chapel, 121 N. Bypass.
