Otis Terrell Apperson, widely known as “Big O” age, 78 of Melber, KY died on December 11, 2017 at his home. He was a retired machinist and mechanic, an accomplished farmer on the County Line Road, and life-long member of Owens Chapel United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Kay Mullican-Apperson; daughter, Annette Clark (husband, Dr. Jeff), of Paducah, KY; son, Michael Terrell Apperson (wife, Paula Kay), of Carrsville, VA; daughter, Karen Elizabeth Burnett (husband, Stan) of Melber, KY; nine (9) grandchildren and ten (10) great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Ann Hobbs (husband, Bob), of Fort Wayne, IN; sister, Marilyn “Pip” Jackson (husband, Richard), of Baraboo, WI; twin sister, Ginger Calabrese (husband, Jack, deceased), of Shamburg, IL; brother, William Joseph Apperson (wife, Mardy), of Hudson, FL; and sister Katie Ellen Glisson (husband, Richard) of Lewisburg, TN, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Jewell “Dude” Apperson and Anna Lee Cruse-Apperson.
Services will be held Saturday December 16, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Story, pastor of Owens Chapel Church officiating. Burial will follow at Owens Chapel Cemetery in Melber, KY. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
Friends are invited to a celebration of life gathering at the church following the grave side service.
