Mrs. Mydelle Roberts Rickman, 93, of Murray passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Spring Creek Health Care where she had been a resident since 2015.
Mrs. Rickman was born January 15, 1925, in Calloway County, Kentucky, to Jessie Jones Roberts Barrow and Goebel Roberts, both deceased. Two brothers preceded her in death, Thomas and Billie Ray Roberts. Mrs. Rickman retired as a nurse from Murray Calloway County Hospital in 1993. She was a member of Baptist Nurses Fellowship of Kentucky.
At the age of 12, she became a Christian and joined Flint Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 60 years and was a member of the Baptist Women Mission Group.
In 2007, she was named Calloway County's Best Mom by the Murray Ledger and Times.
She married Macon Rickman on November 23, 1940. He passed away in 2004. Their children are James E. Rickman and wife Barbara, Janice Rickman Chapman and husband Don, and Maurita Rickman Roper and husband Alan. Her brother is Charles Roberts and wife Ann. Her six grandchildren are Darrin and Ed Chapman, Lisa Rickman McCurley, Mitzi Rickman Kissel, Jan Livers Heck and Michael Roper. Great-grandchildren are Austin, Alex, Carson and Jackson Chapman; Allyson and James Preston Murrey; Kayden James Kissel; and Jordan and Madyson Cutts. Great great-grandchildren are Levi and Hallie Chapman.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 SR 121 N. Bypass, Murray, KY 42071. Ed Chapman, Austin Chapman and Glenn Cope will officiate. Burial will follow at the Murray Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be James Dale Hopkins, Larry Gilbert, Richard Vanover, Brian Whybark, Jimmy Dale Johnson and Joe Dan Taylor.
The family will receive visitors between the hours of 5-8 PM, Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Heritage Chapel.
