Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Marjorie Nell Hightower, 81, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY.

Marjorie was born on August 6, 1935 in Satartia, MS to the late Dewey and Minnie Mae Pearce.  She grew up in MS and spent many early years picking cotton to help her family survive the depression.  Marjorie married her first husband, Sid Bogue, and had three children, Sid, Tim and Lisa.  She later married Bernie William Bierman and was blessed with Brenda, Bill, Bonnie and Beverly.  Marjorie's greatest joy came through being a mother and homemaker.  Marjorie chose cosmetology as her profession.  She loved to make women look and feel beautiful.  She owned and operated Your Hairforce #1 making Marjorie one of the first women business owners in her community of Kismet, KS.  In 1978, Marjorie met her and her family's knight and shining armour, Robert E. "Jack" Hightower and they were happily married for 38 years.  Marjorie was an example of strength to all around her.  Her faith, testimony, and love for her savior and His gospel helped her endure many trials in this life.  A milestone in Marjorie's life was her conversion and activity as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Serving in many callings as a Relief Society President, in the Young Women's Organization, and her favorite calling was Stake Primary President "which she was called to at the age of 65".  Marjorie lived her life in a way that others admired, never complaining and always serving with a kind, compassionate spirit.  She loved reading, writing poetry, shopping for a great deal, crappy fishing, cooking for family, and gardening.  She and Jack will always be remembered for their beautiful yards. Especially their flower and vegetable gardens.  Marjorie will be greatly missed and has left a void that can never be filled.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, Jack Hightower, her seven children, Sid Bogue, Tim Bogue, Lisa Bogue, Brenda Bierman, Bill Bierman, Bonnie Nelson (Richard) and Beverly Astin (John); 25 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Don Pierce, a sister, Martha Sue Dickson and beautiful daughter in law, Beth Bogue.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 2 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 602 South 16th Street, Murray.  Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Yazoo City, MS at 3 PM on Saturday, June 17, 2017.

The family will receive visitors from 12-2 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Murray.
