Howard Matheny

Mr. Howard Matheny, 91, of Murray, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Spring Creek Healthcare, Murray. Mr. Matheny was born on April 24, 1925 in Trigg County, KY to the late Raymond Matheny and Susie Smith Matheny. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was in the Honor Guard. Howard was a charter member of Westside Baptist Church in Murray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Paschall Matheny. Surviving him is a son, Kelvin Matheny of Murray; a daughter, Meta Brewer (Mark) of Murray; two sisters in law; Dimple West and Vanita Paschall, both of Puryear, TN and four grandchildren, Ty and Luke Spears, Sabrina Brewer Spears (Trent) of Buchanan, TN and Darbie Brewer. The funeral service for Mr. Matheny is set for 11 AM on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Imes Funeral Home & Crematory, downtown Murray with Glenn Orr officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery in Puryear. Pallbearers include Jimmy Felts, Billy Collins, David Paschall, Gary Paschall, Dale Paschall and Trent Spears.
