Mrs. Fairy Mae Mitchell, age 77 of Benton, KY passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY. She was a homemaker and member of Hamelt Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School.
Born Tuesday, May 17, 1938 in Paducah, KY, she was the daughter of the late Wilson Fletcher and the late Marie (McGill) Fletcher.
Surviving are her husband, Benny Mitchell of Benton, KY; sons, Timmy Crenshaw of Paducah, KY and Benny Mitchell, Jr., wife Jeannie of Benton, KY, daughters, Lucinda Barnett, husband Terry of Cadiz, KY, Debbie Guinn, husband Dewayne of Hickory, KY and Elizabeth Carol Callihan, husband Jerry of Benton, KY, step-mother, Edne Earl Fletcher of Benton, KY; brother, Bill Fletcher of Benton, KY, sister, Janie Washburn of Benton, KY; grandchildren, Derek Englert of Benton, KY, Amanda Crenshaw of Benton, KY, Hannah Marie Barnett of Cadiz, KY, Timberly Crenshaw of Benton, KY, Bradley Callihan of Benton, KY, Robyn Callihan of Benton, KY, Nicholas DeJarnett of Paducah, Ky, Corey DeJarnett of Mayfield, KY, Courtney Nevatt of Plainview, TX, Caleb DeJarnett of Benton, KY, Jeffrey Mitchell of Benton, KY, Samantha Mitchell of Benton, KY; Brandon Mitchell of Benton, KY; and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Roger Vaughn.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with Bro. Glenn Cope officiating.
Interment will follow in Hamlet Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Hamlet Baptist Church, 3923 Eggners Ferry Road, Benton, KY 42025.
