Eugene Peak Moore, age 92, formally of Gilbertsville, KY, a resident of Jackson, TN passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital after a brief stay at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt, TN, where he was sharing a room with his beloved wife of 65 years, Lillia Gennette Moore. From Calloway County, KY, he was preceded in death by parents, Tellus and Pearl Moore, two brothers, Tolbert and Damon and two sisters, Mary Belle and Dorothy. He leaves behind his wife, Lillia Gennette, three children Steven (Judy), Daniel (Darla) and Rebecca (Mike), nine grandchildren, Kristi, Julia, Michael, Preston, Randy, Kye, Nick, Brittin and Elijah and six great grandchildren, Kirsten, Kalee, Felicity, Connor, Claire and Kylie. He is also survived by many in laws, nieces and nephews. Mr. Moore is a Veteran of WWII, United States Navy, where he served for four years. The discipline and patriotism he learned while sailing the South Pacific never left him as family and friends can attest by his many stories and humble accounts of all he experienced as a young man fresh off the tobacco farm in Kentucky. Mr. Moore was also a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 543, F. & A.M. of Calvert City, KY. Mr. Moore was also a Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonel. Visitation will be Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Services will follow at 2:00 PM at Imes Funeral Home & Crematory, 311 North 4th Street, Murray, KY 42071 with Sammy Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
