Mrs. Earlene Hamlett, age 84 of Benton, KY died on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, KY. She was a retired Tow Boat Cook and member of Oak Level Missionary Baptist Church.
Born Monday, April 8, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Walter Stilley Wood and the late Laverne (Garland) Wood.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harold Hamlett of Benton, KY, daughter, Deborah Rose, husband Joe of Benton, KY, brother, John Wood of Marshall County, KY, sisters, Lelah Powell of Benton, KY, Hontas Fields of Benton, KY, grandchildren, Jody Rose, wife Wendy of Benton, KY, Christy Dwyer, husband Brent of Murfreesboro, TN, and great-grandchild, Colton Joseph Dwyer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, and 2 sisters.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025, Bro. C.C. Brasher and Bro. Scott Penick officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Oak Level Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund.
