Steve Denton, 58, of Clarksville, TN formerly of Bardwell, KY died at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville at 11:27 a.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2014.

 

He was a former member of Beulah Baptist Church and was a safety inspector for the Federal Railroad Administration for over 20 years.  Prior to that, he worked for Illinois Central Railroad as a signal maintainer for 17 years.  He was an amateur ham radio operator with call letters, KM4TV, loved history especially civil war era, and was a former member of the Midnight Special Band.

 

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Debra Slayden Denton of Clarksville, TN; his two sons, Brian Denton and wife Shelley of Mt. Juliet, TN and Sam Denton of Columbus, KY; his sister, Sherri Hall and husband Bill of Arlington, KY; and granddaughters, Kayli Sneyd, Shelbi Denton, and Charli Denton all of Clarksville, TN.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Wayne and Edith Ford Denton.

 

Services will be held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014 with Rev. Ian Carrico officiating.  Burial will follow at Roselawn cemetery in Bardwell.  Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the funeral home.
