Opal Dean (Carter) Jones of Grand Rivers, KY, formerly of Arlington, KY, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 2:48 pm at Clinton ICF Nursing Facility, surrounded by her family.
She was born February 4, 1921 in Arlington, KY to the late Hiram M. and Maudie Lee (Tucker) Carter.
Opal was a member of the Meeting Room at Columbus, KY. She enjoyed her family outing, camping and travels. She loved the Lord and she read her Bible every day. She was devoted to her friends and family, and especially her little furry buddy, Coco.
She is survived by her loving son, Stanton Jones and wife Velma of Grand Rivers, KY; one grandson, Dwain Jones and wife Terrie; one granddaughter, Sheila Dubuisson and husband Donald; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Sanders and husband Jesse, Maci Jones and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Stanton Jones; three sisters, Earlene Rushing, Zora Stewart and Ruby Moore; two brothers, Amos Carter and infant brother Hiram Jr.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held 3 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with Rev. Bobby Woods officiating. Burial will follow the service at Burkley Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 2 pm at the funeral home until the time of service.
