Olean Partin Jackson, 94, of Cunningham, KY passed away January 4, 2017 at Superior Care Home in Paducah. She was born April 15, 1922, the second of nine children of Syd Partin and Gladys Peebles Partin.
After high school, Olean and her sister Eva moved to Detroit to work during World War II. She later attended nursing school in Memphis, TN and later was the longtime nurse for Dr. Thomas Bracken in Bardwell, KY. She retired from the Purchase Area Health Department. She married Hugh Cecil Jackson in 1946, and they enjoyed fifty eight years of marriage prior to his death in 2005. For the past year she was a resident of Brookdale Paducah, where she made many new friends.
Olean is survived by her brothers Delbert Partin and Albert Partin of Cunningham, Ben Partin of Scott City, MO; her sisters Anna Davis and Mary Jane Davis of Cunningham; her children Jim Jackson and wife Pam of Frankfort, KY, Martha Jackson of Dallas, TX, Suzanne Jackson and husband Jerry Felts of Cunningham, Rick Jackson and wife Massi of Frisco, TX, and her grandchildren Jay Jackson, Jennifer Jackson Brown, James McLean Jackson, Andrew Hugh Jackson, Kevin Roncal, and Lindsey Brunsman. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Cecil Jackson; grandson Chandler Hugh Jackson; brother Emuel Partin; and sisters Eva Brown and Nell Renfro.
A celebration of life service will be held at Corinth United Methodist Church in Cunningham, KY on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Smith officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
