Joseph D. “Donnie” Nalley, 78, of Boaz, Kentucky passed away at 3:28 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center of Lourdes Hospital. He was born on May 23rd, 1939 in Morganfield, Kentucky, he was the youngest of five children. He graduated from Morganfield High School in 1957. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country being stationed at Camp Lejune and Cherry Point.

 

On September 2nd, 1961, Joseph married Catherine McNeil and together they raised four daughters. They enjoyed 55 years of marrage. Donnie was employed at Air Products/Wacker Chemical Plant in Calvert City, Kentucky for 44 years, where he made many lifelong friends. He was a member of Morganfield First Baptist Church in Morganfield, Kentucky. Donnie was an avid UK Basketball fan but even a bigger fan of his five grandchildren.

 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Catherine McNeil Nalley; four daughters, Laura (Jeff) Deaton of Lexington, Kentucky, Tracy Strickland of Boaz, Kentucky; Kristie (Tim) Marcum of Stanton, Kentucky and Sandy (Greg) Williams of Lexington, Kentucky; sister, Pat Offutt of Paducah, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Nathan (Alex) Strickland, Trey Marcum, Trevor Marcum, Ethan Williams, Nalli Katherine Marcum and several nieces and nephews.

 

Donnie was preceded in deathy by his mother and step father, Dorothy Hatfield Garman and Milo Garman, father, R. L. Nalley, Sr.; brothers, Bill Nalley and R. L. Nalley, Jr.; sister, Nadine Mackey.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Frizzell officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Strickland, Trey Marcum, Trevor Marcum, Ethan Williams, Chapman Offutt, Clayton Offutt and Matthew Adamson.

 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
