James
C. Massey, 88, of Paducah died on Friday, June 7, 2019 at his home with
his family by his side.
Mr. Massey was a retired
locomotive engineer for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad and was a steam
locomotive buff. He loved children, Cub’s baseball, and steam locomotives. He
was raised in the Highpoint Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his children,
Delee Massey, Jay Massey, Krista Massey, Nathan Hopwood, Rebecca Scott, Connie
Booher, Deanna Booher and Deneen Dixon. He also leaves behind siblings, Butch
Massey, Ruby Prince, Evelyn Trichel and Louise Harris as well as 17
grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, Noah Massey and Opal Massey (Clemens); one son, Isaac Massey; and two
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm
on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Hines officiating.
Burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery in West Paducah.
Friends
may visit the family from 11:00am to service hour on Wednesday at the funeral
home.
