Floyd Dixon Jr., age 73, of Arlington, KY passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Clinton Place in Clinton, KY.
Mr. Dixon started his professional career as magazine deliverer with Basin News on the south side of Paducah. From there, he spent time as a driver for McLean Truck Line and then went on to have a 32 year career in sales for Paducah Rigging. Floyd was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 574 in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was a previous member of Reidland Christian Church and current member of Arlington First Baptist Church.
Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife of 21 years, Clarissa Jane Neville Dixon; his daughter, Lora Diane Sitton and husband, Gregory Wayne of Benton; his son, Todd Edwin Dixon of Arlington; his stepson, Edward Lynn Wallace II of Arlington; one brother, Donald T. Dixon and wife Gerry Lou of Lovelaceville; two grandchildren, Cole Aron Dixon and wife, Hailey of Bardwell and Ashley Marie Dixon of Murray; his great-grandson, Ayden Riley Vinyard of Murray; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 29 years, Diana Lynn Walker Dixon; his parents, Floyd Sr. and Lorene Rudd Dixon; and three sisters, Mary Frances Tapp, Shirley Jones and Jean Doom.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Arlington First Baptist Church with Rev. David Sphinx and Rev. Shane O’Guin officiating. Committal Service will be at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Tiline Cemetery in Tiline, KY.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, September 4, 2017 at Milner at Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Arlington.
