Ella Mae Butterbaugh

Ella Mae Butterbaugh, 85, of Wickliffe, KY passed away at 1:24 am on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis, Il.  Known as “Ellie” to her friends, she was born February 12, 1932 to John Samuel and Esther Viola Rudy in Altoona, PA.    She graduated from Tyrone High School in 1951 and was employed at the First Blair County National Bank of Tyrone PA. In Pennsylvania she was also an active leader in the Girl Scouts of America. Having moved to Wickliffe with her family at the opening of the Westvaco paper mill, Ellie was employed by Citizens State Bank of Wickliffe as a bookkeeper.  She was an avid golfer and enjoyed winters golfing in Florida where she achieved a hole in one on January 24, 2004.  Over everything else she was a loving wife, mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother.  Ellie was a charter member of Grace United Methodist Church in LaCenter, KY.  She was also a member of United Methodist Women and the Ballard County Country Club.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Jerry Butterbaugh; one daughter, Joanne (Bryan) Trible of Evansville, IN; three sons, John (Gloria) Butterbaugh of Wickliffe, Tom (Cindy) Butterbaugh and Tim Butterbaugh both of Paducah; one sister, Mary Kathleen (Milton) Getz of Tyrone, PA;  seven grandchildren, Chris (Christy) Halteman of Wickliffe, KY, Maggie (Chris) Stewart of Pasadena, MD, Austin (Michaela) Butterbaugh of Charleston, SC, Emma Trible of Evansville, IN, Adam (Kirstin) Butterbaugh of Paducah, Eric (Heather) Butterbaugh of Paducah, and Sean (Sarah) Butterbaugh of Lexington, KY; four great-grandchildren, Gemma Halteman, Landon Butterbaugh, Adalynn Butterbaugh, Marissa Butterbaugh, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, William Rudy of Sandy Ridge, PA.

Services will be held Monday, January 22, 2018 at 1 pm at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe with Rev. Jamie Lee officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Wickliffe City Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 1 to 3 pm at the funeral home.
