Dr. Ron Slatick, 56, of Paducah passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.

Ron was born in Pottstown, PA on October 25, 1962 in the midst of the Cuban Missile Crisis. At age 4 he moved to Volusia County, FL where Ron was educated and played many sports including baseball and was a member of the local boy scouts and cub scouts.

He graduated from DeLand Senior High School in DeLand, FL in 1980. He went on to further his education at the University of Florida in Gainesville where he attained an Associate of Arts, a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, and a Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology. During his college experience he enjoyed playing baseball and football. He participated in all social activities that a large college has to offer. He went on to further his education at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia attaining his degree in 1989. Further professional education was attained as a civilian at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, VA and at Metropolitan Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

In 1989, Dr. Slatick started a solo practice where he met a lot of wonderful people, gained some great friendships, and enjoyed trying to help each of them.

Dr. Slatick was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Stanley Slatick who was a coal miner; his mother, Helen Agnus (Nee Foley) who was a mother and homemaker; his sister, Patricia Ann (Nee Slatick) Collins a register nurse; a brother, James Stephen Slatick a career master Sgt. In the U.S. Airforce.

Surviving is one son, Tyler Stephen Slatick, age 25, of Ft. Wayne Indiana; and wonderful friends, Nicole and James Kelley, Johnny Samples, and Bill and Veronica Statler, and many many more wonderful individuals in his life. He is also survived by one brother-in-law, Brendan Collins; and several nieces and nephews.

Burial service will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Grace Episcopal Church with the Rev. Charles Uhlik officiating.

Friends may visit the family from 1:00pm to service hour on Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his honor to Mercy Health Lourdes Hospice or the Community Kitchen.
