Arlington | Dec. 11, 1927 | Aug. 09, 2020

Dorothy Marie Williams Reeves passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 9, 2020.

Dorothy was born on December 11, 1927 to the late George and Maggie Elizabeth “Lizzie” Vaughn. She was a member of the Milburn Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of Milburn, KY, spending the last years of her life lovingly cared for in her daughter, Sandy’s home.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Cooley and husband, Jeff of Milburn, KY; Teresa Knoop and husband, Brian of Nashville, TN; two grandchildren, Rylie Cooley and Lauren Knoop; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by two loving husbands, Byrl Williams and James Reeves; a beloved grandchild, Christopher Knoop; her mom and dad; her brothers, Inan Vaughn, JD Vaughn, Bill Vaughn; her sisters Margaret Collins, Zula Puckett, Georgia Lee Russell; and several nieces and nephews.

God gained the sweetest and most loving person anyone could have ever met. When this lady walked in a room, she would light up the room with her smile. Dorothy never wanted anyone to be anything but happy and she loved everyone, no matter the circumstances. Despite losing two husbands and a grandchild, she remained positive with an intense love of life and was always ready to “go” anywhere, anytime. She lived her faith and dearly loved her family and friends, cooking, music and dancing.  She died shortly after listening to some of her favorite songs, surrounded by her family and we truly believe those feet of hers are made whole and she is dancing in Heaven surrounded by family. Hers was most certainly a life well lived and she was a blessing to her family, friends and the world.

A private family graveside will be held at Milburn Cemetery.  Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington is in charge of arrangements.

While there will be no visitation; a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
