Albert “Pete” Partin, age 87, of West Paducah, formerly of Cunningham, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah. 

 

Albert was born on January, 26, 1932 to the late Sydney and Gladys Partin.  He was of the Methodist faith and a member of Cornith United Methodist Church in Cunningham.  Albert served his country in the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged in 1960. 

 

Albert will be remembered by many for his time working in the family business, Partin’s Sausage Company.   His father, Sydney, started the company in 1925 and Albert helped it to expand into Pulaski County, Illinois and Charleston, Missouri during his career. He was also the owner of Carlisle County Salvage Yard in Bardwell.

 

Albert had many hobbies and lived life to the fullest.  In the mid 1960’s, he raced cars, using the iconic #1 as his number and won most of his races.  He loved to travel and in 1975, he bought his first motor home in Memphis, Tennessee.  From there, he went on to visit every state in the United States, except for Hawaii.  He also loved spending time on the Kentucky Lake in his house boat, the “Lady Lucy”.  Albert was an avid boater and was one of the first to venture down the Tombigbee Waterway in a small vessel all the way to Mobile, Alabama and New Orleans, Louisiana.  In the winter, Albert would spend time in Florida on Lake Okeechobee. 

 

Albert is survived by three daughters, Jan Partin-Sexton and husband, Keeven of West Paducah, Melinda Ford and husband, Mike of Orlando, Florida and Sidney Crowell and husband, David of Paducah; two step-sons, Bobby Conyers and Gary Conyers, both of East Prairie, Missouri; two sisters, Anna Davis and husband, Joe Dale and Mary Jane Davis and husband, Donald, all of Cunningham; two brothers, Delbert Partin of Cunningham and Benny Partin and wife, LeaAnn of Scott City, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Joe Arnold, Anglea Birney (Casey), Brandon Arnold, Brent Arnold (Brandy), Christy Ford, Michelle Tapscott (Jay), Emily Smith (Greg) and Erika Crowell; 17 great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Lucille “Lucy” Partin; three sisters, Olean Jackson, Eva Brown and Nell Renfro; one brother, Emuel Partin; three step-sons and his parents. 

 

Funeral Services for Albert will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Johnny Sams officiating.  Burial will follow at Cunningham Memorial Gardens.

 

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the Funeral Home.
