Robert Allen “Henry” Ford, 79, of Barlow, passed away Friday, February 15th, 2019 at Mercy Health/ Lourdes Hospital of Paducah.
Henry was a retired operator for USEC formerly known as Union Carbide where he worked for over 35 years, retiring in 2016. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Barlow United Methodist Church and the former LaCenter and Oscar United Methodist Churches. He was a loving, Godly man who lived a life full of service and light, helping anyone he could. Henry was also a car fanatic, as a mechanic and restoring antique cars, and loved Nascar.
Henry is survived by three children, Robert Keith (Susie) Ford of Iowa, Kevin Ford of Barlow, and Mary Kay (Ben) Kennedy of Kevil; one sister, Cynthia Wilson of Vidalia, LA.; three grandchildren, Allanay (Tim) Bryan and Caroline Kennedy, and Makayle Ford; one great grandchild, Beau Bryan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Kathleen Jones Ford; and his parents, Robert and Stella Criswell Ford.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday evening, February 22rd, 2019 at Lindsey Funeral Home from 5 until 8pm. A celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 23th 2019 at Lindsey Funeral Home starting at 11am with Rev. Franklin Stone officiating. Another celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 at Barlow United Methodist Church from 3pm until 6pm. On Sunday, March 3rd, 2019 at Barlow United Methodist Church, during the church service, there will be a memorial service as well. A meal will follow the service on Sunday at the church.
The family has asked that anyone that has an antique automobile, please bring it with them to any of the services scheduled in his honor. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to St. Jude’s Research Hospital in Memphis or the Barlow United Methodist Church.
