David Grief, 72, of Paducah formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away at 7:15 pm on Saturday, November, 15, 2014 at Barkley Center in Paducah.
He was a retired senior instrument mechanic instructor for Tennessee Valley Authority and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local 816. He was a member of Rosary Chapel, and a volunteer for Rosary Chapel Men’s Ministry, and a member of Knights of Columbus. He had worked for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis MO.
Mr. Grief is survived by his loving wife Jeanne Naas Grief; four daughters, Sandy Yates of Flint MI, Lori Wagner and husband Bill of Clarkston MI, Cheryl Yates of Paducah, KY, Tina Harper of Clinton KY; two sisters, Phyllis Darnell of Paducah KY, Marilyn Mayes and husband Michael of Paducah KY; two brothers, Richard “Skippy” Grief and wife Lillie of Paducah, KY, Howard Grief of West Paducah KY; eleven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Grief was preceded in death by his parents Richard Thomas Grief and Ruth Anna Ballard Grief, and one daughter Maria Grief.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Rosary Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation for Mr. Grief will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, November, 17, 2014 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
