Terry George “OG” Howell, age 63, of Brookport, IL, passed away at his residence on Friday, November 23, 2018, at 12:01 p.m.
Terry was of the Baptist faith. He was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and a Veteran of the US Army, having served during the Vietnam Era. He was also employed as a semi-truck driver for various companies.
Terry is survived by his mother, Colleen Carruthers Hardy of Brookport, IL; two daughters, Monique Jefferson of Greenleaf, MD and Destiny Massey of Sacramento, CA; four grandchildren; two sisters, Wilma Grubbs of Paducah and Erma Spears of Austin, TX; three brothers, Wilbur Reid of Sacramento, CA, Anthony Grubbs, Sr. of West Paducah, and Guan Grubbs of Jackson, TN; one uncle; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Vernell Howell, Sr., four brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, December 6, 2018, 1:00 p.m., at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Wade officiating. Burial with military honors will follow on Friday, December 7, 2018, 11:30 a.m., in Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City, IL.
Friends may also call at the church on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.
