Ronnie Eugene “Big R” Mansfield, of Metropolis, Illinois passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018, 8:10 a.m., at his residence.
He was a member of Just By Faith Ministries where he served in the church maintenance department. He was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and was an over-the-road truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard James Mansfield, Sr. and Kathryn Bishop Mansfield, two brothers, Richard James Mansfield, Jr. and Charles W. Mansfield; two sisters, Lauretta Rudd and Sharon Mansfield.
Survivors include: his wife, Deena Mansfield of Metropolis, IL; one daughter, Deva Mansfield- Brown of Metropolis, one son, Seitu Martin of Long Beach ,CA ; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hallie Bowden and Margaret Kirksey both of Evansville, IN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, September 7, 2018, 12 noon at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home with Reverend’s Gwendolyn Duncan and Samuel Byrd officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery.
