Michael Jewitt, 65, of Metropolis, Illinois, passed away at 7:58 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Massac Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Jewitt was of the Christian faith and was a Custodian for the Palmdale California School District.
Michael is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cynthia Baxter Jewitt; a daughter, Colleen Marie Jewitt Hunter of Wilsonville, Oregon; a son, Robert Michael Jewitt of Metropolis, Illinois; four grandchildren, Tessa Waddoups Bates and husband Wayne, Kyli Hunter, Braxxton Hunter and Amy Hunter; two great- grandchildren, Levenna Bates and Paisley Bates; two sisters, Mary Whitworth of Incom, Idaho and Helen Garvey of Shoshone, Idaho; a brother, Claude Raines of Arvada, Colorado; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Jewitt. His parents were, George Jewitt and Levenna Colleen Grimes Christenson.
There will be no services.
