Mary Louis Schnelle, 73, of Metropolis died early Sunday morning December 7, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital of Paducah.
She was born in Sandwich IL on July 14, 1941. She spent much of her youth at the Illinois Soldiers and Sailors Children’s School and graduated from University High School, Normal, IL in 1960. Mary moved to and settled in Metropolis many years ago.
She is survived by her son, Hugh Parsons of Charleston, WV.; two brothers, William “Bill” Robert (Jeanne)Merchant of Overland Park, KS and Edward “Eddie” Miller of Watseka, IL; one sister, Janet Theresa (Charles) Pope of Sandwich, IL; one uncle, J.T. “Jake” Merchant of Paducah, KY; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Oliver and Ruth Eleanor Erwin Merchant; an infant sister, Laurie; and two brothers, Harold Eugene Merchant and Mark Lee Singer.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
