Mary E. Wemhoener, age 91 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 8:01 am on Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis. Rev. Jon Cockrel will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Metropolis.
Mary is survived by her son, Robert Wemhoener and wife Karen of Metropolis, IL; granddaughters, Gretchen Johnston and husband Trevor of Nashville, TN and Hanna Wemhoener of Charlotte, NC; 2 brothers, Wes May and Wilburn May both of Metropolis, IL; several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Charles and Minnie Lela (King) May; husband, Lendel Wemhoener; an infant sister; 4 brothers, Frank May, Ed May, Richard May, and Lindell May
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
