Lynn Leon Evinger, 84, of Metropolis, IL, passed away at 6:20 pm Friday, May 12, 2017 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Lynn was born in Harrisburg, PA on April 1, 1933. Parents: Helen (Asper) and Ralph Super, and Emory Evinger. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He has attended First Church of God in Metropolis, IL, First United Methodist Church in Benton, KY and Grace United Methodist Church in Lemoyne, PA. He was employed as a delivery driver for Kessler’s Meat and Capital Bakers / Manbeck’s Baking Company.
Mr. Evinger is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan Louise Clawser Evinger; his daughters, Ilene Musselman and husband Dane, of Paducah, KY, Holly Clements and husband Theadore, of Mechanicsburg, PA; his sons, Matthew Evinger and wife Jodi, of Bangor, PA, Keith Evinger and wife Juli, of Metropolis, IL, Nathan Evinger and wife Debbie, of Red Lion, PA, Owen Evinger and wife Jeanette, of Colorado Springs, CO; two half sisters, Cindy Huntsicker and Roseanna Holler, both of Newport, PA; one half brother, Albert Evinger and wife Beatrice of Marysville, PA; 10 grandchildren, Edward Musselman and wife Meagan, Christian Musselman and wife Jaclyn, Timothy Evinger, Nicholas Evinger, Steven Evinger, Jessica Evinger, Kya Evinger, Melinda Bishop and husband Cory, Ted C. Clements, Theresa Milavec; eight great grandchildren, Molly, Ryan, Annie Kate, Elizabeth, Landis, Chanse, Trenton, and Alex; his sister in laws, June Evinger, Mary Evinger.
Mr. Evinger was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, George Evinger, John Evinger and sister-in-law Doris Gordon.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 18, 2017 at First Church of God, 1105 Girard Street, Metropolis, IL.
A second Memorial Service will be held in Lemoyne, PA at a later date.
