Mr. Lewis Bowles, age 74, of Metropolis, IL, died on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at his residence. He was born on March 19, 1942 to LeRoy and Ida Mae Bowles.
Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Rev. Trad York officiating. Burial will follow.
Lewis was Vice President with Triangle Enterprise in Paducah for 35 years. He was a member of Waldo Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge #91, and was currently serving on the Massac Unit #1 School Board.
Lewis is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Taylor Bowles; daughter, Barbara Ball and husband David; son, Blake Bowles and wife Rene all of Metropolis; seven grandchildren, Dakota Ball, Colby Ball, Nathan Ball, Sara Jennings, Candace VanderBoegh, Mackenzie Bruer, Derrick Bowles; several great grandchildren; one sister, Clara Young of Paducah; one brother, M.T. Bowles of Kevil, KY; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bruce Bowles; one granddaughter, Laura Bowles.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
