Floyd Hawes, age 73, passed away at his home in Wickliffe, on Saturday, October 20, 2018.

He was a member of Anchor of Hope Full Gospel Temple in Wickliffe.  Floyd worked as a machinist for Valley Steel in Cairo, Illinois and at Burkhart also in Cairo.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved his grandchildren and the family said "he walked softly and carried a big spoon”.  He loved to stir things up!

He is survived by his wife, Mary Criddle Hawes of Wickliffe; his daughter, Mary Ann Dennis of Wickliffe; his five grandchildren, Britney Roman, Crystal Green, Devin Hawes, Austin Hawes, and Lauren Hawes; his three great-grandchildren, Aidyn Roman, Cale Roman, and Braxton Hawes; his sisters, Bessie Pleasant of Goreville, Illinois, Frances Harris of Wyatt, Missouri, Bertha Garner of Herrin, Illinois, Annie Mae Hawes of Wickliffe, and Rose Powell of Marion, Illinois.  Floyd is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Keith Hawes, and his parents, Charles and Annie Fitzgerald Hawes.

Funeral services for Floyd will be on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe.  Rev. Dee Hazelwood will officiate and burial will follow in Bethlehem Church Cemetery of Wickliffe.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
