Billie Jean Quint, age 88 of Metropolis, Illinois, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 6:38 pm Saturday, August 27, 2016, surrounded by the love of her family to whom she poured out her love to all of her life.

She was a homemaker who loved plants, flowers, and gardening. She kept busy in the kitchen always cooking for family, friends, and anyone else who stopped by.

She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Metropolis, where she started attending as a young girl.

She is survived by three children, Barbara Adcock, Tommy Quint and Dawn Maloney, and Joe Quint and wife Kim all of Metropolis; eight grandchildren, Jeff Adcock and wife Val, Perry Adcock and wife Sherri, Alissa Hayes, Amanda Quint, Drew Quint and wife Melissa, Autumn Quint, Caleb Quint and wife Kayla, and Amelia Quint; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, for whom she had a special love for; two sisters-in-law, Alberta Wallace and Opal Quint; and two special dogs, Maddie and Gracie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Quint; one son, Jimmy Quint; her parents, John Louis and Lucy C. Rogers; three brothers, George Rogers, Claude Rogers, and Bob Rogers; two sisters, Hazel Wedeking and Mildred Hillebrand; four special nephews, Billy Wedeking, Gerald Hillebrand, Bobbie Joe Hillebrand, and Kenneth Hillebrand; one special niece, Sharon Hillebrand Pritchett.

Visitation will be held on Monday evening August 29, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Metropolis and also on Tuesday from 9 am until the funeral hour at the church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Metropolis. Rev. Shalom Renner and Rev. Jon Cockrel will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Adcock, Perry Adcock, Drew Quint, Caleb Quint, Chris Quint, and Gavin Hayes.

Music will be provided by Stecia Gregory, Pianist.
