Arthur Ray Young, age 86, of Paducah, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018, 9:56 p.m., at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
He was a member of Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church and a former member of Church of the Living God (CWFF) where he had served as treasurer and as a trustee.
Ray was a former delivery truck driver for both Owens Cleaners and the Paducah Packing House. He was also employed as a constructionist at the Shawnee Steam Plant. He was co-owner and operator of Ray and Lorine’s Liquor Store.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lorine W. Young of Paducah; two sons, Daryl Dodson of East Orange, NJ and Monte R. Young of Brooklyn, NY; one daughter, Deirdre Young of Nash-ville, TN; Two Granddaughters; two brothers, James Young and Joseph Richard Young, Both of Paducah, KY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Dan Young and Mary Erma Henderson Young, one brother and a sister.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 4, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Alfred Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
