Clayton, Tiffany
Mrs. Tiffany Shemwell Clayton, age 35, of Murray, Kentucky, died Wednesday,
December 5, 2018 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was born in Murray, Kentucky on September 19, 1983.Tiffany was a
graduate of Murray State University earning her Bachelor's in Elementary
Education and her Master's in special education. She was a licensed customer
service representative for Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance Company in the
Calloway County office and was a member of the Murray First United Methodist
Church.
Community involvement was key to Tiffany's life
as she served as the Murray-Calloway County Relay for Life Survivor Chair for
six years as she reached out to cancer survivors, like herself, and brought
joy, hope and love to each one as they battled and fought that terrible
disease. Additionally, she would spend hours upon hours creating, decorating
and setting up each year's event.
Another passion for Tiffany was all the children
she came in contact with during her years of teaching in area elementary and middle
schools, and especially serving the children and youth of Murray First United
Methodist Church. Tiffany served over 20 years as Sunday School teacher to the
preschool students and spent time assisting the United Methodist Youth with programs
on Sunday and Wednesday night and annually with Vacation Bible School as the
crafts director. While no child was biological, they all were her children as
she nurtured and cared for each one as if they were her own and she was theirs.
Most importantly, God and her family were the top
priorities in her life as her love shined through daily whether it be her
creations that she was so happy to make for those she cared about from shirts,
mugs, ornaments and hundreds of decorations; beig in charge of the church's
layette ministry which provided newborns and their mothers with much needed
supplies as they went home from the hospital; helping guide devotionals,
activities and fundraisers with her church circle, Friendship Hannah; spending
as much time as she could in church and around her church family while
constantly professing her faith to all those who needed to hear it or simply
needed a friend, she was always there and would always go above and beyond in
whatever situation arose.
Being with family at all times was so vital as
she cherished every moment she had with her mother at their furniture store as
they help raise her niece, Mira, whom she loved unconditionally and eternally,
as well as with her father, Ronnie,
husband, Aaron, her brother Worth, sister-in-law Kendra, and family and friends
around the country as they took trips, gathered at community events, enjoyed
holidays and meals while they made everlasting memories every second that will
be cherished forever.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Lilburn
"Blackie" Shemwell and her maternal grandparents, Pat and Dortha
Carraway.
Tiffany is survived by her husband, Aaron Clayton of Murray, Kentucky, whom
she married in Murray, Kentucky on June 25, 2011; her parents Ronnie and Terese
(Carraway) Shemwell of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Worth Shemwell and wife
Kendra (Bryant) of Murray, Kentucky; paternal grandmother, Blanche Shemwell of
