RON TYRONE ROUSE and his melodious voice was called to his Heavenly Home to join the Heavenly Choir on Friday, September 27, 2024, at approximately 5:16 a.m. from Baptist Health Paducah came at his blessed age of 55 years, 3 months and 10 days. He was born the son of Barbara Jean Rouse and the late Clarence Higgs on June 17, 1969, in Paducah, Kentucky.
Ron was called into the ministry in his late teens while attending Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church under the guidance of his pastor and mentor, the late Reverend Dr. W.G. Harvey Sr. He served as both choir director and well-known soloist at the church for many years. Ron was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and later was employed as a supervisor at NHC Health Care Center of Milan, TN.
Ron was a very loveable person who never met a stranger. He was well-known both near and far for his talents in both singing and directing as he unselfishly shared his talents in the tri-state area where he was called upon at various events. He loved to cook; his specialty was his lasagna that no one could match. At the age of 13, he asked his mom to teach him how to cook chicken and dressing; he mastered the art and shared with both his family and friends.
Ron leaves his family and friends to mourn his passing: His Mother, Barbara Jean Rouse and Step-Father, Arlanda Harris, both of Paducah, KY; His Son, Kamaya Browne of Dallas, TX; His Sister, Shonda Rouse of Paducah, KY; His Heart, His Pet Dog, Kevin Lamar; Two Brothers, Jason Higgs of Tennessee and Fred “Tuffy” Higgs of Dallas, TX; Two Uncles, Terry (Kaye) Rouse and Special Uncle, Roy (Patricia Smith) Rouse, Four Aunts, Merlean Kelly, Rava Nell Rouse, Linda Ruth Hamilton and Yvonne Rouse, all of Paducah, KY; A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousin, Friends and Bonus Siblings Tammy, Tia, Donovan, Gwen, Archie, George and Terry.
Those who met him at Heaven’s Gates were his Father, Clarence Higgs; a brother, Patrick Rouse; a sister, Kim LeFlore and his maternal grandparents, Oscar Rouse and Lula Dance Rouse.
Funeral arrangements have been set for Saturday, October 5, 2024, 1:00 p.m., at New Greater Love Church of Paducah with Bishop Larita Horton-Addison and Reverend Dr. Gwendolyn Addison-Duncan officiating.
Friends may also call on the family at the church on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
