Lisa Ann Johnson, formerly known as Letha Lee Jones, was born November 1, 1946, in Tallahassee, Mississippi, to the late Ollie May Jones and Jacob Jones. She peacefully departed this life on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
Lisa received her education in her hometown before moving to Chicago, Illinois. From an early age, Lisa accepted Christ and carried an incredibly loving spirit throughout her life. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah, where she served on the mother’s board.
Besides spending time with her family and friends, Lisa had a passion for cooking and fishing. She had a bright and energetic personality and was known for her ability to sense when people needed her help. Lisa touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Dennis Johnson; her sons, Johnny Jones, Rick Jones, Danny Fisher, and Robert Harris; son-in-law, Vernon Eatman; her sisters, Brenda Barnes, Kathy Jones, Rosa Jones-Knight, and Marie Miller; sister-in-law, Laurice Jones; her brothers, Jimmy, Leroy, Hart Earl and Tony; grandson, DeAngelo; her great-granddaughter, Faith and great-grandsons, Azaire, Koby and Raymond.
Lisa’s memory will forever be cherished by her sons, Duke (Cherese) Bush and Julian Fisher; her daughters, Deborah (Glenn) Johnson, Lolita (Steve) Bush-Gaskin, Felicia Bush-Eatman, Lorraine (Shannon) Joiner-Crawford, Lakisha (James) Johnson, Petrice (Tarus) Johnson-Dixon, Sandra McGregor (Joe Smith); forty grandchildren; seventy-seven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; bonus daughters, Diane Collins and Odie Naylor; bonus sons, Allen Cox, Elton (Tara) Naylor, Michael Johnson, Reggie Porter and Joe Smith; her close friends, Denise Coleman, Sharon Durham, Editha Wade, and Jerry Shannon; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, September 22, 2025, at 12 noon at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Wade officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
