Virginia Ruth Stone Taylor, 83, went home to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 1, 2024. She worshipped with those gathered to the Lord’s name near Columbus, Kentucky.
Ruth was born and raised in Columbus, Kentucky, until she continued her education at Murray State University and Ohio State University, where she was a math professor and also taught in public schools in Columbus, Ohio. She traveled quite extensively, including a stint in India, where she taught English. After retiring and moving back to Kentucky, she mentored students in math at Hickman County High School and volunteered at the Mission House in Clinton, Kentucky.
Ruth was a very kind, compassionate, and generous lady whose mission in life was to share the love of Jesus Christ. She was known for her ready smile and her sincere caring for others.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Max Taylor; her parents, Robert and Virginia (Hollinsworth) Stone; and a brother, Robert Lee Stone.
She is survived by her nephew, Anthony Stone, of Wingo, Kentucky, and one niece, Leslie (Stone) Butler, of Huntsville, Alabama. She is also survived by her late husband’s niece, Tamara Laslie; nephew, Tim and wife Lori of Edwardsville, Illinois; and a special friend, Katie Robbins, of Columbus, Ohio.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Arlington, with Howard Erisman officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at the funeral home.
