Sharon Ann Seay, 77, of the New Hope community peacefully left her earthly body on January 24, 2025.  She was at her home surrounded by her family when she went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She was born on June 17, 1947, the daughter of the late L.A. and Mary Davis of Calvert City at the Old Riverside Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.  Sharon graduated from North Marshall High School in 1965 and attended Paducah Junior College and Murray State University.  Soon after, she met the love of her life, Billy Ronald Seay of the New Hope Community, and shortly following they were married on March 22, 1968.

Sharon worked on the family farm while raising her three children.  She loved her family with all her heart and would do all she could to help anyone. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, especially for big family gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She loved her church family and was a faithful member of New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years. She helped with the youth group, taught Sunday school, and was the church secretary for several years.  Her real love was decorating the church sanctuary, which included making seasonal worship banners by hand.  Sharon loved to be outside working on her flowers and mowing the lawn.  She liked to go fishing with her husband Billy, especially the day she caught a 28-pound catfish. She also enjoyed doing crafts with her daughter, and she loved all the friends she made when traveling to craft shows.

Surviving is her husband of almost 57 years, Billy R. Seay; three daughters, Robin (Jamie) Greer, Tammy (Jimmy) Griffith, Kelly (Scotty) Layfield all of Paducah; one brother, Skip Davis (Berna) of Benton; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents L.A. and Mary Davis and a sister Donna Davis.

A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Elizabeth Spann and Rev. Doug Hughes officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Lone Oak and after 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025 at New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at the New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 7680 New Hope Church Rd, Paducah, KY 42001.
