Pamela Gipson, a cherished pillar of the Paducah community, passed away peacefully at her home after a long illness on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the age of 73.

Born on November 8, 1951, to the late Robert Earl Garland and Melva Jean Simmons Garland in the very town she loved, Pam dedicated her life to the service of others through her family, work, and volunteerism.

As a retired Financial Controller at Paducah Bank for 49 years, Pam was known for her meticulous attention to detail and her unwavering integrity. Pam's tenure at Paducah Bank was the longest in the history of that institution. Her commitment to her community extended beyond her professional life as she served passionately on the Board of the Paducah/McCracken County Senior Center, contributing to the well-being of the town’s elder residents, along with her selfless service and devotion as primary caregiver for her parents and husband before their passing. Her quiet generosity and consistent humility were well known to those around her.

Faith played a significant role in Pamela's life, growing up in the Methodist tradition, then attending First Baptist Church Paducah for many years. She found joy in scrapbooking, preserving memories for future generations, and cherished the simple pleasures of taking long walks with her close-knit group of friends.

Pam's legacy of kindness, dedication, and community service will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by a daughter, Megan Elizabeth Gipson of Paducah; a brother, Max Garland of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Dan Gipson and his wife, Susan of Villa Hills, Kentucky; an aunt, Martha Garland of Franklin, Tennessee; 2 cousins, Marta Garland Nall and Budde Ray Garland both of Franklin, Tennessee; her beloved dog, Rosie and a grand-dog, Molly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lynn Gipson, and her parents.

A memorial gathering will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm with informal visitation followed by brief words of Celebration/Appreciation at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah.
