Michael Anthony Craine, 64, known to family and friends simply as Mike, passed away on July 2, 2026, in Paducah, Kentucky, at the age of 64.
Born on April 20, 1962, in Louisville, Kentucky, Mike lived a life marked by kindness, thoughtfulness, and a quiet sense of interest in the world around him. He carried those qualities with him throughout his life and shared them generously with those who knew him best. Mike was a man who valued simple joys, meaningful connections, and the comfort of familiar things, and he will be remembered with deep affection by all whose lives he touched.
Mike worked as a welder for Jones Steel, where he was respected for his steady work and dependable nature. He approached his work with care and dedication, and his strong work ethic reflected the character that defined him in every part of his life. Outside of work, Mike found happiness in the things he loved most. He had a deep appreciation for 1970s music and was very knowledgeable about the artists and songs of that era. He also enjoyed playing his guitar, a pastime that brought him peace and pleasure. His cats were dear companions to him, and he took great comfort in their presence. Mike was also a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, where his faith was an important part of his life.
Mike is survived by his mother, Beverly Fisher Craine of Paducah, Kentucky; his sisters, Jennifer Craine of Paducah, Kentucky, and Bobbi O'Brien of Benton, Kentucky; his brother, Robert Craine of Paducah, Kentucky; cousins, Jeff Chambers, Bobby Chambers, DeAnn Chambers and John Chambers; nieces and nephews, Gaven Oakley, Isabelle Gutierrez, Wesley Craine, Lydia Craine, Briannon Young, Layne Story, Tony Franklin, and Savannah Schucht. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and relative, and his family will cherish the memories they shared with him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Craine; his sister, Alisa Craine; his beloved grandmother, Lorean Fisher; his grandfather, Harry Fisher; his grandparents, Neomi and Noble Craine; his niece, Carson Oakley; and his aunt, Harriet Chambers. Their memory remained a part of his life, and he is now reunited with them in eternal rest.
Those who knew Mike will remember him as a kind, thoughtful, and interesting man who had a gentle spirit and a genuine way about him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, music, faith, and family that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will remain a source of comfort and gratitude for years to come.
