Max Duane Hampton, age 67, of Boaz, Kentucky, passed away on May 7, 2026, at his residence.
He was born on February 9, 1959, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and lived a life marked by hard work, loyalty, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that made each day meaningful.
Max was a man who took great pride in his work and in the many roles he fulfilled throughout his life. He was the co-owner of Rocking H Enterprizes Trucking Company. He was a member of the Owner Operator Independent Driver Association, where he shared in the values of independence, dedication, and perseverance that defined his career. He also worked for 28 years as a foreman and lineman for Paducah Power, where he earned the respect of those who worked alongside him. As a Master Electrician, Max brought skill, experience, and a strong work ethic to everything he did.
Those who knew Max will remember him as a hardworking man with a straightforward nature and a good sense of humor. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and had a lifelong love for horses, westerns, and especially the films of John Wayne. He was also a devoted Denver Broncos fan, following his team with a loyalty that never wavered. In his free time, he could most often be found hunting, fishing, or, as he liked to say, “fartin’ around”, enjoying the outdoors and the freedom of doing things his own way.
Max is survived by two sons, Matthew Hampton (Chrystal) of Boaz, Logan Hampton (Morgan Graham) of Paducah; two grandchildren, Charlie Jo Hampton and Henry Hampton; his mother, Ruth Jeannette Maxey Hampton; one foster-sister, Jacqueline Shelburne (Troy) of Versailles, Kentucky, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Lisa Danette Sellars Hampton; his father, Melvin Grady Hampton; one sister, Mona Hampton Ivy; and two brothers, Paul Grady Hampton and Mel Gordon Hampton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Dobbs officiating. Burial will follow the service at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
