Linda Sue Fowler, 72, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on May 25, 2026. Born February 17, 1954, in Paducah, she was raised in West Paducah and carried the values of hard work, faith, and compassion throughout her life.
Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy was caring for the people and animals she loved. A Registered Nurse by profession, she dedicated her life to helping others with kindness and compassion. She was a faithful member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and remained loyal to her faith, family, and friends throughout her life.
Raised on a farm, Linda was never afraid of hard work and could often be found outside working on projects, gardening, caring for her home and property, or riding a lawn mower or tractor. She loved cooking, spending time with family and friends, and sharing her wonderful sense of humor that brought joy to those around her. Linda was known for being funny, kindhearted, hardworking, and capable of doing just about anything she set her mind to.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Fowler; daughter, Linley Wright; stepsons, Chuck Fowler (Chrissy) and John Fowler (Heather); granddaughter, Chaney Shook (Reed); step-grandchildren, Jordan Fowler, Katie Feagin (Dakota), Morgan Fowler, and Sydney Watkins (Keagen); sisters, Janice Pace (Ted) and Faye Spillman; brother, Jerry McElya (Judith); sister-in-law, Cathy McElya; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Lucille McElya; brother, Bill McElya; and sister, Agnes Butler.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Tilford and Dr. Jeff Wallace officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
