Leila Fay Wade, 88, of Arlington, Kentucky, passed away on July 5, 2026, at Baptist Health Paducah. Leila was born on April 8, 1938, to the late Willie and Bertha Loomis.

Leila met the love of her life, Bill Wade, while they were both working at the Brown Shoe Company in Charleston, Missouri. Their love story began there and led to their marriage on August 21, 1964. In 1965, they made their home in Carlisle, Kentucky, where they built a life together filled with love, hard work, and devotion to their family.

After moving to Kentucky, Leila worked at the Brown Shoe Company in Clinton until the factory closed in 1976. She and Bill attended Arlington Baptist Church for many years, where they found strength in their faith and lasting friendships.

Leila found joy in creating beautiful things. She loved embroidery and quilting, spending countless hours stitching pieces that would become treasured keepsakes for those she loved. She enjoyed gardening and canning, always taking pride in providing for her family. An exceptional cook, Leila was especially known for the large Christmas family dinners she lovingly prepared each year, bringing generations together around her table. Those meals were about far more than food; they were a celebration of family, tradition, and love.

She also had a passion for shopping, especially at flea markets and yard sales, where she delighted in searching for unique treasures. Among her favorite collections was Hull pottery, which she carefully gathered over the years and proudly displayed in her home.

More than anything, Leila cherished her family. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and welcome, and she found her greatest happiness in caring for those she loved. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Leila is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bill Wade; son, Tony Wade of Bardwell, Kentucky; their grandson, Christopher Wade; and her sister, Floetta Byrd of Damascus, Arkansas.

She is preceded in death by four brothers, Larry Loomis, Benny Loomis, Gary Loomis, and Dennis Loomis; and her parents.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with Bro. Glen Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service time of 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.
