John T. Heflin Jr., 81, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Kentucky.
Those who knew John remember a man who appreciated the outdoors, enjoyed the freedom of the open road, and found happiness in the familiar rhythms of everyday life. He loved to hunt, and he cherished the quiet patience and skill that came with time spent in nature. He also loved riding motorcycles, embracing the sense of adventure and independence that came with every ride. Fishing was another of his favorite pastimes, offering him moments of peace, reflection, and companionship with the world around him. John’s loyal dog, Susie, held a special place in his heart. Their bond reflected the gentle and devoted side of his character, and he took great comfort in her companionship. Most of all, he loved his family and the time he spent with them.
John is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Pansy Scillion Heflin of Paducah, Kentucky; one son, Randy Heflin; three sisters-in-law, Frances Clutts, Linda Stokes, and Shelia Lindley; three brothers-in-law, Benny Scillion, Don Scillion, and Ricky Scillion.
