Bro. Larry Eugene Davidson, age 77, of Paducah, Kentucky, heard the words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant,” on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Baptist Health Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.
Bro. Larry was born on April 5, 1948, in Milan, Tennessee, to the late Robert Eugene Davidson and Annie Elizabeth Thompson Davidson.
Bro. Larry was a graduate of Mid-Continent Baptist Bible College and later awarded an honorary Doctor of Ministry for faithful years of service to the Kingdom.
Bro. Larry began his work at Union Carbide and felt a call to the ministry in 1978.
Bro. Larry has always been an avid fisherman of crappie. If he wasn’t at home making a lure, he would be in the boat with one of his buddies on Kentucky or Barkley Lake reeling them in. But the most important fishing Larry did in his life, was reeling in the souls for Christ. He was a true “fisher of men.” Only Jesus knows the number of souls Larry cast the line to and talked about Him on Saturday visits and driving the church bus on Sunday mornings bringing in thousands to church to hear the word of Christ and planting the seed to have a personal Savior.
Bro. Larry began his ministry at Spring Bayou Baptist Church as Associate Pastor and went on to become Senior Pastor at Mt Zion Baptist Church where he remained for 25 years until retirement (the first time.) He came out of retirement and served as Interim Pastor for Bellview Baptist Church and several other churches in the West Kentucky area until 2024, when he finally retired.
Larry is survived by his wife, his “Prime Rib” Jo Pam Davidson. His children, Chad (Kim) Davidson of Paducah, and Brad (Karey) Davidson of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He was the best Papa to his grandchildren Reagan (Will) Whitt (Shepherdsville, KY), Andrew (Haleigh) Davidson, (Lancaster, KY), Ava, Ben, Caleb and Annie Davidson (Mt. Sterling, KY), a sister-in-law, Judy Goodrich (Huffman, TX), and additional family members Beverly Mitchell (Mayfield, KY) and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Carolyn Elliott, and Kay Davidson, a brother-in-law, JC Goodrich, a grandchild, and a great-grandchild.
