Galloway, Ray

Ray Donald Galloway, 88, of Paducah passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019 at his home.

Ray was a graduate of August Tilghman High School and a member of West End Baptist Church in Paducah. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War.

Ray worked as a Paducah Firefighter for 33 years, retiring in 1987 as a captain. He was a recipient of the Duke of Paducah award. To support his family, he also worked for Trevathan’s Furniture Store for many years. He was a fan of University of Kentucky basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed fishing and working outdoors. He was a member of West End Baptist Church in Paducah.

Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Joyce McCawley Galloway; three sons, David (Sarah) Williams of Shellsburg, IA, Keith (Mary) Galloway of Paducah and Jeff Galloway of Paducah; three daughters, Connie (Mike) Emerson of Hickory, Joyce Anne McClaran of Paducah; and Peggy (David) Harrison of West Paducah; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His parents were Hugh William Galloway and Nova Mae Gillam Galloway.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Revs. DeWayne Chadwick and Terry Sills officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family from 11:00am to service hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
